Shefaro Borzoi Adults for Sale
The Borzoi below are sired/grandsired by Ch. BOKHARA Shefaro El Dorado, son of Ch. J.A.Y. Seabury Japaneski BOKHARA (Bubba), grandson of Birk. He inherited the bad bite gene. He did not create it. He does not have a bad bite although as time progressed it went from scissors to slightly "reverse" scissors also known as undershot. Some of his kids and grandkids do not necessarily exhibit the undershot bite, but it is there in their pedigree. Since they are not for sale for breeding or show, it is not a problem for their owners or future owners. I felt it was something that should be disclosed. El Dorado himself was a lovely dog, but he carries and produces the at-a-year undershot bite gene. Birk's owner, Monika Hard, sent me the following email when I asked her about the bite problems behind El Dorado.

Nikolai
Nikolai is a lovely dog with a sweet disposition. He is looking for a forever companion dog home. He inherited his paternal grand aunt's undershot bite. He has it himself and can never be used for show or breeding. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I raised his father and several of his siblings only to have the bites go undershot at a young adult/adult age. It is not a bite that is seen in a puppy. It hits later on and is worse since I have counted on these kids for Shefaro's future and now I can't. Please see pictures below. These are kind, loving dogs who deserve to be someone's sole companions. Nikolai's dam was bred twice to other dogs and did not produce undershot bites.
Cheval - SOLD!
Cheval is a lovely dog with a sweet disposition. He is a finished champion looking for a companion dog home. Cheval inherited his paternal grand aunt's undershot bite. He has it himself and he passed it to his son, Pegaso. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I raised his father and several of his siblings only to have the bites go undershot at a young adult/adult age. It is not a bite that is seen in a puppy. It hits later on and is worse since I have counted on these kids for Shefaro's future and now I can't. Cheval's sisters, Magdalena and Blondie are also available. Please see their pictures below. These are kind, loving dogs who deserve to be someone's sole companions. Cheval's dam, Princesa, was bred twice to other dogs and did not produce undershot bites.
Blondie - SOLD!
Blondie is a lovely girl with a sweet disposition, just like her brother, Cheval, and sister Maggie. Blondie inherited her paternal grand aunt's undershot bite and will no longer be a part of Shefaro's breeding program. While Blondie has a level bite, she will not be shown. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I raised her father and several of her siblings only to have the bite go undershot at a young adult/adult age. It is not a bite that is seen in a puppy. It hits later on and is worse since I have counted on these kids for Shefaro's future. Maggie, Cheval and Blondie are kind, loving dogs who deserve to be someone's sole companions. Their dam, Princesa, was bred twice to other dogs and did not produce undershot bites.
Maggie - SOLD!
Maggie is a lovely girl with a sweet disposition, just like her brother, Cheval, and sister Blondie. Maggie inherited her paternal grand aunt's undershot bite and will no longer be a part of Shefaro's breeding program. While Maggie has a level bite, she will not be shown.
Angelica - SOLD!
Another lovely girl with a sweet disposition Angelica inherited her paternal grand aunt's undershot bite. Her brother, Leonardo, has the undershot bite himself. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I raised her father and several of her siblings only to have the bite go undershot at a young adult/adult age. Both Angie and Leonardo, otherwise very correct dogs have been relegated to pet status. It is not a bite that is seen in a puppy. It shows up later on and is worse since I have counted on these kids for show and now I can't. Angie and her siblings are kind, loving dogs who deserve to be someone's sole companions.
Libby - SOLD!
carries her Paternal Grand Aunt's undershot-at-a-year bite gene. While Libby has a "good" bite, she will not be shown or bred at Shefaro. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I raised her father and several of her siblings only to have the bite go undershot at a young adult/adult age. Another breeder who bred to El Dorado's sire, coined the phrase "undershot-at-a-year" and she had the same in her own litter. Libby's grand aunt was left in Japan because of her undershot bite. Libby, otherwise very correct has been relegated to pet status. It is not a bite that is seen in a puppy. It hits later on and is worse since I have counted on these kids for show and breeding. Libby and her siblings are kind, loving dogs who deserve to be someone's sole companions.
Rolando - Sold!
Rolando is a handsome dog with a sweet disposition. He lacks one major from becoming a champion and is looking for a companion dog home. He has a level bite himself, but possesses the "at-a-year-undershot-bite" gene. This has proven to be a heartache for me. I had so much wrapped up in Rolando. He is a kind, loving dog who deserve to be someone's sole companion. Rolando's dam, Fabiana, was bred twice to other dogs and did not produce undershot bites.
Here are a couple of boys who went undershot at a year. But for that, they'd be champions. They are in pet homes. This is the Bokhara legacy at Shefaro.
