Lola x Einstein pups born August 25, 2009
This litter was a year in the making and a breeding worth repeating!
Lola x Einstein's litter born September 9, 2009, almost a year ago, was a combination of Top Racing to Top Show lines because I wanted the hybrid vigor that would hopefully weed out the health issues so prevalent in so many show Greyhound pedigrees. It was reported to me that the racing Greyhounds behind Einstein do not have the health issues that show lines do. Perhaps that is because racing breeders care about health and function while show breeders just want to win in the show ring and make money off the backs of their dogs. I believe first and foremost in excellent temperament (visit Shefaro Temperament) followed by a keen mind and ability to function. It is because the September 2008 litter was so spectacular that I decided to repeat it after a year and skipping a heat cycle. This is truly a breeding worth repeating!

I am the breeder of Lola and have both her parents. Lola is out of champions whose pedigrees go back to top winning greyhounds(AKC) Einstein is out of a top racing sire (NGA) He has been lure coursed just 5 times and has a recent Best in Field. Lola has been shown and is close to obtaining her UKC championship Both Lola and Einstein live at Shefaro and are well cared for. Their pups look to be very very nice and also very well cared for. I feel it was a good breeding. Bringing in an NGA greyhound does bring new blood to a limited gene pool and can produce very good pups who can compete in conformation or coursing events sucessfully. I am proud to have bred the beautiful Lola and think her pups are very very nice. Hopefully some of them will be out competing in coursing and conformation. Thank you Mary Jane Peterson
Daddy Einstein wins Best in Field October 18, 2008 and will be back out on the lure coursing field in October of 2009 hoping to repeat the performance.
Einstein enjoys a run in Shefaro Park. He's keeping in shape while waiting for the South Texas lure coursing season to start.
Einstein is a very serious lure coursing competitor.
This litter is so similar to last year's that I hope I have a Leia or Scooby for myself. Leia has a lookalike brother...

I am not sure why it is, but it seems to me that Greyhound pups develop faster than other breeds. These pups seem to be advancing rapidly. I was told by Lola's breeder that pups have better traction on the ground than on quilts and maybe that accounts for it. They have better traction and much more space outdoors.

The Greyhound puppy play pen 70 feet around under a lovely TexAsh tree for shade. This is their play area during nice weather. If it rains, they come back in the house.
Watch them grow in relation to the round bale.
New found freedom in the full pasture, they are doing short bursts of running - sprinting as befits their breed.
Oh Boy! Hay is fun!

Pups look like last year's pups from baby Fenix to baby Einstein Jr.
October 6, 2009 - the pups quickly outgrew the Puppy Play Pen and now are in a huge grassy paddock. The wonderful rains we had in San Antonio have caused the soft coastal grasses to grow and the puppies love it.
The pups are outgoing, playful and growing beautifully. They free feed, free exercise and don't have a care in the world.
Can I come play with the goats?
